This is an evauation of the effectiveness of Eedi (previously Diagnostic Questions or DQ) formative assessment programme on raising attainment in mathematics at GCSE. Its a two-arm cluster randomised controlled trial with random allocation at the school level funded by the Education Endowment Foundation.

What is the need?

This study seeks to examine whether pupils’ exposure to Eedi formative question setting platform and marking system for mathematics in secondary schools raises attainment in mathematics at GCSE.  It also seeks to understand whether teacher workload, for teachers using Eedi for mathematics instruction at Years 10 and 11, is reduced

What are we doing?

Professor Stephen Morris is co-Principal Investigator for this evaluation which is collaboration between Peru and Alpha Plus consultancy.

What are the timescales?

Development work is underway with randomization due to commence late Spring. The study will run for three years.
