This Academy for Social Justice Commissioning evening seminar is hosted by PERU at Manchester Metropolitan University.

The speaker is Nequela Whittaker who is a Gangs Specialist, Author and Founding Director of Committed Empowered Originals (CEO) Youth Service.

Nequela was once a feared gang leader in south London who was involved in county lines. Now she is a qualified practitioner working with young people on those same streets where she also runs an advocacy service offering support to young people at risk.

In this free seminar Nequela will discuss her former life, how she came to reform and share her expertise on what is needed to save young people who may become lost to crime.

Nequela co-wrote the book Street Girl, to de-glamorise gang culture and expose its grim realities.
