EuroCohort, a project led by PERU, has been mentioned in the initial analysis of infrastructures as part of the process to develop the next UK Research Infrastructure Roadmap. UKRI, the umbrella organisation of the research councils in the UK has recently published its initial analysis of infrastructures. The process is ongoing with the final Roadmap expected in 2019.

EuroCohort is mentioned in the section devoted to Social Science and Humanities infrastructures alongside other longitudinal surveys such as MCS BCS NCDS from the Centre for Longitudinal Studies and CLOSER at UCL, and Understanding Society based at the University of Essex all of whom are partners on the EuroCohort project.

Surprising and disappointing is that the European Social Survey also a EuroCohort partner), based at City University, London, which is already an established European Research Infrastructure, did not get a mention.  Presumably this oversight will be corrected in future UK Landscape analyses.

PERU is working towards getting EuroCohort included on the ESFRI 2021 Roadmap in order to ensure that Europe has comparative longitudinal social surveys from birth through to the end of life along with the Gender and Generations Programme and the Survey of Health Ageing and Retirement in Europe.
