The Department of Sociology is looking for a lecturer in criminology to contribute our teaching and research with a particular focus on quantitative research and evaluation.
The successful candidate will become a member of our Policy Evaluation and Research Unit (www.mmuperu.co.uk) within the department. PERU is a large and well-established research and evaluation unit that works across social policy in the UK and internationally.
The successful candidate will also contribute to the teaching of core modules in undergraduate criminology in the Department of Sociology at Manchester Metropolitan. The Department is one of the largest in the UK; with 85 members of staff and over 1500 students on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. It is student centred with a strong focus on teaching excellent research-led criminology. The Department is also research-intensive, recently ranked in REF2022 as top 15 for research power. Our research is applied, empirical, methodologically innovative, and highly cross-disciplinary.
