Kevin Albertson recently organised and spoke at the ESRC funded event “The Rime of the Ancient Manchester: Developing the socio-political and cultural languages of devolution”.

At this event, Kevin argued for the role of social sciences in informing policy, particularly around devolution. In particular, economics must serve community aspirations (not vice versa), and it is in the social sciences that community aspirations can be identified and communicated.

The event was attended by the general public, including 6th form college students and members of MMU staff. A video summary is available on the ESRC website.
