PERU hosts the Academy for Social Justice events in the North West. In this seminar Justin Russell, Chief Inspector of Probation, will give an overview of early findings from HMI Probation’s second round of annual inspections against a new set of quality standards and consider what that may tell us about probation performance and its direction of travel after the impacts of Transforming Rehabilitation. He will also discuss the priorities for probation reform indicated by the Probation Inspectorate’s recent thematic inspections.

Justin joined HM Inspectorate of Probation in June 2019 from his previous role as Director General, Justice Analysis and Offence Policy at the Ministry of Justice.
