After an open recruitment and selection process PERU’s Kevin Wong (Reader in Community Justice and Associate Director Criminal Justice) has been appointed as the new Chair of the Criminal Justice Alliance (CJA).

Kevin said he is“excited and a little daunted” to be taking over from John Drew OBE the former Chief Executive of the Youth Justice Board, but is looking forward to: “getting to know members and helping the CJA move forward in the next stage of its development.”

The CJA is a coalition of 160 organisations working toward a fair and effective criminal justice system. The membership includes campaigning charities, voluntary sector service providers, research institutions and staff associations. Members work right across the criminal justice system, from policing to prisons, probation to victims’ services.
