What is the need?

Choose Change is a resettlement project for offenders serving prison sentences of under 12 months leaving HMP Manchester. The Choose Change project works with offenders while they are in prison and continues to support them for three months when they return to the community.

What are we doing?

The PERU evaluation included a process evaluation, impact evaluation and economic evaluation. The evaluation included a series of in-depth interviews with offenders who went through the programme.

What were the outcomes?

We produced 2 interim reports and a final report. These reports informed decisions made the project steering group when considering the continuing development of the project and its future.

What are the timescales?

The project was completed in 2011.
