Abstract

Global Perspectives on Strategic International Partnerships: A Guide to Building Sustainable Academic Linkages takes an in-depth look into strategic institutional linkages from a host of vantage points, providing readers with critical case studies, practical advice, theoretical background, and good practices for developing successful partnerships. In ‘Joining Forces in Facing European Challenges: The CARPE Consortium on Applied Research and Professional Education’ the authors discuss the development of the first European network for ‘applied science’ universities: CARPE consortium. They set out its goals and describe the journey the partners went on to establish today’s consortium. Along the way various challenges were encountered and the authors discuss how these were overcome.
