What is the need?
In previous inspections HMP Grendon have been advised to undertake a Cost Benefit Analysis to demonstrate the value of the therapeutic approach that the prison delivers.
What are we doing?
PERU is undertaking a feasibility study to assess whether a Cost Benefit Analysis is technically possible and whether given likely resource implications associated with such a study a full study would be justifiable.
What will be the outcomes?
A report will be produced for HMP Grendon that details options for taking forward a Cost Benefit Analysis, the technical feasibility of such a project, its likely cost and recommendations on its overall viability.
What are the timescales?
The evaluation started in March 2013 and will run for approximately 6 months.
