Training and Events
We run regular, free, on-line training sessions on themes related to ‘what works to reduce re-offending’ to support users of the Reducing Reoffending website. Training sessions are designed for senior practitioners, managers and policy-makers working in the UK criminal justice system. Sessions are as follows:
- What Works to reduce re-offending: the current state of the evidence includes a briefing on which approaches to reducing reoffending work, which don’t and which need more evidence. It also looks at how we assess the evidence to reach these conclusions.
- An Introduction to Systematic Reviews in criminal justice introduces Systematic Reviews, which are an important tool in evidence-based policy and practice in criminal justice.
- An Introduction to impact evaluation in criminal justice looks at different approaches to impact evaluation for people who need to read evaluation reports or commission evaluations.
These training sessions assume no prior knowledge of research methods and all information is presented in a non-technical, jargon free format.
