PERU has a long-standing interest in many aspects of childhood and youth. Our current work in this area covers areas as diverse as:

  • Children and young people’s wellbeing
  • Experiences of migrant children
  • Radicalisation and conflict
  • Young peoples’ political participation
  • Resettlement in the youth justice system
  • The needs of young people leaving care

PERU coordinated the The European Cohort Development Project (ECDP), a Design Study which created the specification and business case for a European Research Infrastructure that will provide, over the next 25 years, comparative longitudinal survey data on child and young adult well-being. The infrastructure developed by ECDP will be the basis for the first Europe wide cohort survey, named EuroCohort.
