The government\u2019s recent provision of \u00a39.5 million to establish demonstration projects to\u00a0provide integrated community services for female offenders was a welcome development.\u00a0It is unlikely that continued special funding will be available for such projects so it is\u00a0essential that lessons learned from these projects are disseminated widely to facilitate the\u00a0mainstreaming of good practice.
