[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Paul Senior the co-founder of this journal and Co-Editor from the first issue in 2002 until his retirement in 2016 recently passed away.\u00a0 He made a significant contribution to the journal and more widely to probation practice, training and research. He will be much missed.<\/p>\n

In tribute to Paul, we are featuring a special back issue of the journal. It was the last one that Paul edited and the papers form a collection of thought pieces and reflections on probation: practice, principles and ethos.\u00a0 Based on a two-day retreat in Cumbria which Paul hosted for long-time friends and colleagues, it perhaps reflects Paul at his eclectic best.\u00a0 We invite you to enjoy these papers and consider them afresh, particularly in the light of the recent proposals for the new shape of probation in England and Wales.<\/p>\n
